MS Centers & Doctors
A lot of people aren’t aware that there are MS Centers across the country and it’s important that you do your research to find the one closest to you. Multiple Sclerosis has come a long way since it was years ago and there are MS doctors that know this disease more than anyone else. This is not to say that your neurologist isn’t doing his or her job correctly but there’s a difference in a handy man installing a light fixture than an electrician. You want the best and in this case with your body…find a doctor that knows MS and knows the latest studies, events, clinical trials, etc.

Multiple Sclerosis is an auto-immune disease and has many chronic symptoms. We feel a diet is a great way to forget about your symptoms and feel great about yourself. As Darrell looks at it, “it’s not a diet…it’s a lifestyle change”. Darrell takes the best recipes from all the books and put together the best plan for himself. Everyone is different but he truly believes in cutting out anti-inflammatory foods that trigger your symptoms.
A word from Darrell: If you ask me about my diet, I’m going to tell you how much pride I take in it, I will make sure you are aware that it’s for real and I know I’m in a better place because of it. I took out sugar, dairy, gluten, red meats, pork, eggs, alcohol, grains (except brown rice), legumes (except almonds & cashews) but when you look at me like, “why, what do you eat”, I say plenty and love everything I do eat. Sometimes I feel like I can even do more and sometimes I will have that glass of red wine. Diet has made my symptoms go away; I truly believe that.
Matt Embrey has become a MS mentor with his social media platform and #nocheatdays approach. I’m not sure what I’m more enamored with, him or his father the researcher but their recipe book is on point. I use about 50% of my diet through this book.
Great recipes, great online presence and up to date flavors.
An amazing story about a doctor who turned her MS life around using diet. I have taken recipes from here and absolutely love the three categories she breaks it into. Much respect to this woman and her amazing feats.
The original maker of any MS diet, the legend of the Swank diet is amazing and what a great way to know 50 years ago there was someone screaming DIET.
